I am originally from the Oklahoma City area (Mustang), but I have called Tulsa home since 2005. Between OKC and Tulsa, I spent four years in Stillwater obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!).
Upon graduation, I began my professional career in the audit practice of KPMG, working primarily on energy, healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing clients. After three years, I entered the energy industry at Helmerich & Payne, working in internal audit (SOX compliance) and international accounting (FCPA compliance; six months in Bogota!). Five years later, I decided to join the challenging and ever-changing world of private equity-backed E&P companies. In those eight years, I led the accounting departments of three companies through eight acquisitions, three system implementations, and a merger.
I enjoy building teams, establishing processes and controls, standing up systems, managing the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting cycle, and providing officer-focused analyses. Establishing and maintaining relationships (with clients, co-workers, friends, etc.) is also important to me. Embark affords me the opportunity to utilize my experience to assist our clients in many ways. My career has prepared me to take on any challenge and see it through to completion.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife, Kristen, two boys, Owen and Easton, and one pup, Lolo. Not many dull moments at our house! I enjoy playing golf, running, and being outdoors. Being an OSU sports fanatic and music enthusiast, Gallagher-Iba Arena, Boone Pickens Stadium, and Cain’s Ballroom are a few of my happy places.
