Despite growing up in the Austin area, I attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, along with a Masters of Accountancy. From there, I started my career with EY in the Oklahoma market.
I split my 10 years at EY between the Oklahoma City office, specializing in energy marketing, midstream, and retail clients, and the Bartlesville office working on large multi-national energy companies along with energy field services providers. While there, I honed my skills through researching and interpreting complex accounting issues, working through integration challenges, and evaluating business processes.
In 2015, my family and I moved back to Oklahoma City and took a position with Enable Midstream, as their Director of Revenue Accounting and most recently as their Chief Audit Executive. During my time in the industry, I participated in acquisitions, implemented new accounting guidance, and identified process improvement opportunities around emerging risks, such as ESG and regulatory reporting.
At Embark, I am excited to build on our existing market presence, challenge the status quo, and deliver value to our clients.
While not working, I spend most of my time with my wife, Andrea, and our four kids: Annaleigh, Evalyn, Kaison, and Kristopher. When we are not juggling the logistics of youth activities, we try to carve time out for traveling, grilling, hiking, or a round of golf, when I am lucky.
