I was born and raised just north of Salt Lake City and truly love the state of Utah! I earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Utah and then continued at the “U” and obtained my MBA, again with an emphasis in accounting.
After working for a few years at a small accounting firm during school, I spent a majority of my career with Grant Thornton in their Salt Lake City audit practice.
I have over sixteen years of audit experience, primarily focused on benefit plan audits, privately held company audits and public company audits which provides me a unique insight into the needs of finance departments.
I have served clients in a wide variety of industries including direct sales, consumer goods, mining, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, broadcast media and many others. In addition to client service responsibilities at GT, I facilitated local and national trainings, led and grew the employee benefit plan practice in the western states, and developed our people.
At Embark, I utilize my accounting and auditing experience to provide expertise to clients in accounting settings. I help solve problems and accomplish the goals that clients have.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and four awesome kids (1 boy and 3 girls) and cheering them on in their activities. I love to spend time in Utah’s great outdoors cycling, running, golfing, gardening, and hiking. You’ll also find me each Saturday in the fall cheering on my Utes!
